When deciding to bring a new pet home the more you do ahead of time, the better. Plenty of preparation is the key to creating a happy home life for you and your new pet.
With the support of our community, we are able to offer the Lend a Paw Fund, which financially supports residents to prevent them from surrendering or rehoming their pets.
Memorialize your loved one. Caring Hands Humane Society offers communal and private cremation services.
If you live in Newton, and your pet is picked up by animal control it will be brought to Caring Hands Humane Society. Call as soon as you find your pet missing.
Are you in need of a working pet! We take in cats of all kinds - soft and lovable lap cats, your independent boss who keeps his household in order or your hard working outdoor cat who keeps you safe from vermin.
Feral cats can be surrendered and adopted out as working cats. Feral cats within the city of Newton, KS, can become a part of our Trap-neuter-return program.
Caring Hands Humane Society participates in Spay/Neuter Your Pet program or SNYP. Learn how you can protect your pets from disease and suffering through this program.
With the help of those in our community, Caring Hands Humane Society has maintained the no-kill community status for seven years. Each year, we are able to save more and more companion animals and place them in new forever homes. While they are here, we also try to provide the best quality of life possible for the furry (and feathered) friends entrusted to us.
Every bit of help, no matter how small, does make a difference towards expanding the scope of our operations – which has meant more lives saved!
Yes. You can adopt your foster animal. Let us know your intentions so we can get you started with the process. Our number one goal is to find forever homes and what better place to be than someone who already knows them.

Some animals in shelters are saved from the streets and cruelty while some are given up by their families. Countless others never make it to shelters and suffer without someone to care for them. Spaying or neutering pets prevents unwanted litters, and is the most effective and humane way to save animals’ lives.
Please call your local animal control officer to report a crime.
